Sales Manager

Position Purpose

The Sales Manager is responsible to assist the General Sales Manager in all sales at the assigned dealership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that sales of new and pre-owned vehicles are meeting established goals.
  • Monitor and adjust accordingly the inventory of new and pre-owned vehicles to meet established goals.
  • Assist in the development of monthly sales goals and develops sales incentive programs for the sales staff.
  • Assist the sales staff in closing deals.
  • Assist sales staff with any customer-related issues either during or after the sales experience.
  • Assist in hiring, training, counseling and monitoring performance of all sales personnel in the new and/or pre-owned departments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all transactions.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect vehicle sales.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the dealership, sales force and vehicle by adhering and monitoring established follow-up programs.
  • Ensures the marketing program (advertising, showroom positioning and sales incentivizes) for all vehicles is current and effective.
  • Assist the Pre-Owned Department as may be needed with trade appraisals.
  • Assist in directing and scheduling the activities of all department employees, ensuring proper staffing at all times.
  • Ensures that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed by Sales Consultants.
  • Assists the General Sales Manager in maintaining a balanced inventory based on day supply.
  • Conducts daily and weekly sales meetings.
  • Maintains an accurate daily log “manual and CRM” that reflects all sales activities in the dealership.
  • Ensures proper follow-up of all potential buyers and existing clients monitoring use of CRM.
  • Provides effective communication throughout the department as well as interdepartmentally.
  • Develops incentive programs along with other managers.
  • Completes deal recap sheets and turns into accounting office in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Provides General Manager and General Sales Manager with accurate floor traffic control data.
  • Attends managers meetings as requested.
  • Safeguard customer and Dealer information per established policy.
  • Adhere to established dress code policy at all times.
  • Adhere to work schedule and arrive at work before your scheduled start time and be at your work station productively engaged by the scheduled time.
  • Must ensure accurate attendance records “clocking in and out” for sales staff.
  • Complies with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety and personal protection equipment as required.
  • Exemplifies organizational culture and holds others in department accountable for doing the same.
  • Accomplishes all current and future tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
